Series notes:
This series comprises the early general correspondence of the Valuation Division of the Lands Department. The files were numbered 1 - 9999 with a "V" prefix. Thereafter there was a "VA" and a "VB" sequence. The "VA" and "VB" sequences of files were subsequently top-numbered into a Department-wide corespondence series. The Department maintains a register of converted file numbers.~~
