Series notes:
The index to applicants for funding under the Housing Improvement Acts [Homes Act 1927; The Home Act 1933; Housing Improvement Act 1938]. The Home Improvement Acts were put in place to allow for individuals to, without a deposit, apply for loans to either erect a home or to purchase land and erect a home. The scheme provided a government guaranteed advance and was managed by the Agricultural Bank of Tasmania. Only a small number of actual application files have been retained by the Tasmanian Archives. These can be found in series AB106.
