Series notes:
Series comprises registrations for building societies under the Building Societies Act 1876 and the Co-operative Societies Act 1928. Most of the building societies registered under the Co-operative Societies Act 1928 had their registrations terminated under new legislation - the Co-operative Housing Societies Act 1963.
