First volume contains vessels that were surveyed by the Marine Board of Launceston. Summaries were made of the condition of the vessel as well as the sails, lines and instruments. Any repairs are noted and any parts that required replacing. Later volume has further details relating to the conditions of anchors, cables, and general equipment.
