Series notes:
This series contains volumes of stock registers used by the 'Nubeena' quarantine station in Taroona, southern Tasmania. They record the following information about stock entering quarantine: Importer Name & Address, Breed, Number, Sex, Port of Shipment, Date of Entry, and Remarks on condition etc.
A register for a separate 'Federal Account' from 1931 to 1955 is present in one of the volumes.
The Nubeena station was established in 1901 and operated concurrently with the northern quarantine stations until 1959. At this point it transferred most of its animal quarantine duties - except cats and dogs - to the Kings Meadows station.
These records are part of the holdings of the Tasmanian Archives
