Consult the Register (AF286) to identify the control number of the relevant volume.
Series notes:
Contents include technical manuals and monographs covering railway locomotives, rolling stock, permanent way and materials, standards, and workshop requirements. A significant part of the collection is spare parts catalogues and maintenance manuals for locomotives and workshop equipment.
Staff were apparently able to remove the items from the office as there are still borrowing cards in some of the volumes.
Gaps are evident, and the missing items can be identified from the Register (AF286) although it rarely gives the full title and edition.

Three tier numeric. The first number is the general subject, within which there will be up to 34 numbered sub-headings, and then for each sub-heading the volumes are numbered, starting at one each time.
