Series notes:
This collection of maps comprise the survey by Surveyor-General James Sprent of Hobart commencing on 25 February 1841 according to Book 1, p1 of his field notes. Though another date, 17 May 1842 is a possibility according to Field Book 2, p72. The maps include street names and landholders. Note that maps 31 and 61 were removed from this series by the Lands Department and now are items AF394/1/114 and AF394/1/115 respectively.
