Series notes:
This series includes agenda & committee minutes and related reports (including some correspondence, constitutions, and reports to and from the committee). There was, over time, a slight variation on the title the committee gave itself, although its business remained the same.
Following a favourable report on the South Australian visual education system, which recommended a similar scheme be setup in Tasmania at a cost of 1000 pounds, the Tasmania government formed the Visual Education Committee in June 1937.
In 1950, the Government replace it with the Visual Aids Policy Committee, and in 1960 the Government changed it to the Teaching Aids Policy Committee.
