Historical register of place names arranged numerically by decision number. Decisions made regarding the allocation and alteration of place names were given a number, and the numbers were listed in the decision register and were also minuted in the Minutes of Meetings of the Nomenclature Board. This register provides further information such as date of nomenclature decision, decision number, Authority or person submitting name, original name, submitted name, regsitered number, Date gazetted in Tasmanian Government Gazette, classification, municipality, working plan number, map reference and map sheet number. The working plan number does not refer on to any other records, as this reference is to a working documents in use at the time and not kept. The Map Sheet number may or may not appear in the Map Sheet file series.
