Series notes:
Files are examples only, and relate to persons who occupy Housing Department properties in various capacities. Most are for domestic housing, but there are some examples of premises occupied by government departments and commercial organisations. Files contain application to rent, giving personal details of applicant and family, and once a house/flat is allocated, a record of tenancy or purchase agreement, visits by Housing Department personnel, applications for rental rebate, list of repairs necessary or effected. The Department has differentiated between premises purchased and premises vacated, but the file information is the same for each type, and were kept in one numbered sequence. Files are marked Purchase Contract, where relevant, and later stamped P&T.~
