Series notes:
The overture for a small wind and percussion orchestra was composed and played for the reopening of the Princess Theatre in Launceston as a lyric theatre. The Princess was first opened in 1911 as a theatre for live performance but was later converted to a cinema. Also known as Overture for a Happy Occasion.

The scores for the two Shakespearean songs were composed for a fellow Tasmanian, the actor and singer Max Oldaker. Songs titled 'Take O take those lips away' and 'O mistress mine'
