Series notes:
Comprises a lined exercise scrapbook belonging to HC Spotswood. Inside the front cover is a lithograph by Turner & Cleaver, Launceston, of Pollard's Liliputian Opera Company's performance of 'HMS Pinafore' depicting characters from Launceston. Names are: C Spotswood, E Spotswood, A Dakin, Miss F Ford, A Pollard, Maud Pollard, May Pollard and K Riley (Miss Kate O'Reilly).
Includes newsclippings of the production of 'HMS Pinafore' from the Cornwall Chronicle and Launceston Examiner from May to November 1880. Also includes newsclippings of the Launceston Volunteer Rifle Dramatic Club's performance of 'All that glitters is not gold' and other plays. Also a clipping re the Nugget gold mining company at Lefroy.
Includes fliers for the Minstrel and Glee Club, the Rifle Dramatic Club, Pollard's Liliputian Opera Co., and entertainment in aid of Henry Bricknell.
Includes a handwritten play 'The game of Speculation: A comedy in 3 acts' probably a copy of the play written by Slingsby Lawrence c.1851
