Series notes:
There are 6 captioned photograph albums of various camping trips as follows:

1. "Our trip to Lake St Clair, Jany/Feby 1920". Presented to Smithies by his friend and fellow NTCC member Charles F Monds, who accompanied him on this trip.

2. Presented to the Smithies by Dr R McClinton, Christmas 1920 with the dedication "This volume is dedicated in Remembrance of the numerous indignities bestowed on me by an ungrateful Side Car during the routine of my duties in getting in and out of that Side Car 1,000,000 Times. R.M. Xmas 1920"

3. "Lake St Clair, Easter 1925". The party comprised Frank Heyward and son Archer, C. K. Stackhouse and K. Stackhouse, the Duck Hunters and Fred Smithies and his first wife. Transport was a Berliet and a Maxwell motor car. The group also had a boat.

4. "Ben Lomond from Blessington end". Undated - possibly pre1930s

5. Trips to Cradle Mountain 1920-1929. Dedication "In memory of happy times spent at Waldheim. P.S. Not including Xmas vacation of 1922-23".

6. Central Highlands and West Coast, 1920s

7. These albums are followed by 67 loose photographs.
