The Crown Lands Amendment Act 1900 was passed as a further amendment to the Crown Lands Act 1890. The Crown Lands Act 1890 legislated conditions around the sale and purchae of Crown Land. The registers in this series cover the purchase of Third Class Crown Land. Third Class was a classification given to rural land of a certain acreage. This amendment act allowed the Commissioner of Lands to sell Third Class Land by auction.The first register in this series is organised alphabetically by the name of the purchaser of the land. It is a register of application numbers 1-565, and includes name of purchaser, acreage, situation of land, date of application and date when land was chartered and surveyed. The second register is organised chronologically by date of purchase, and includes lot number, area of land, situation, name of purchaer, date of purchase of land, purchase price and instalments paid.
