Thomas Herbert Goddard was a medical practitioner who came to Tasmania in 1914 to work as a medical officer at Mount Bischoff Mine, Waratah and then took up an appointment at the General Hospital in Hobart. He served in the Australian Army Medical Corps during World War 1. He developed great interest and skill in the treatment of tuberculosis and he was made State Director of Tuberculosis in 1945. In 1955 he received a C.B.E. He died in 1967.
