Description:
Established in August 1881 to provide hospital services for the people living in Waratah. It was supported by subscriptions from people employed in the mines, voluntary contributions and an annual government grant. In 1904/5 the Secretary of the Hospital was E O Riggs, and a Dr on staff was Dr W C Faulkner. It appears that from 1915 the Hospital and its land was placed in Government hands.
