The Tasmanian Conservation Trust (TCT) is a voluntary non-profit organisation working on conservation issues, especially those that directly affect Tasmania. The TCT was formed in 1968 with its purpose being to ensure environmentally responsible use of land, water and other resources. To achieve this it aims to foster and assist in the conservation of flora, fauna and important natural, archaeological and cultural features of Tasmania. ;;;;The Trust has over 400 members and an elected Council oversees its operations, while day-to-day activities and executive decisions are managed by the Director. Information about the Trust and its activities, as well as current environmental issues, is regularly published in its newsletter, 'The Tasmanian Conservationist', and at its web site.
