This is a registration for Cyril Manfred Hall and family. Cyril was a motor car painter and amateur photographer and film maker. He pioneered the spray painting of motor chassis in Tasmania. He ran his own business in Argyle Street and in 1922 formed a motor painting works partnership with Victor. M. Johnston (formerly of Brisbane Street). Hall and Johnston was based at 150 Murray Street. Later on Cyril joined with Herbert Goddard, R Rumbold, John Bidgood and R Monteath to form the firm City Motors which was later incorporated into H. C. Heathorn and Co Ltd. And located on Main Road Moonah.;;Cyril was an accomplished bowler and was president of the Buckingham Bowls Club in the 1950s. He was also a member of the Masonic Order. During World War 2, he served in the Corps of the Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Tasmanian Branch.;;His films document events of interest to the state, friends and family members. For that reason, Hall family members and extended family are listed below by name. Cyril was born in 1899 in Mansfield Victoria to Henry Brice and Eleanor Mary Hall (nee Martin). In 1923 he married Sylvia Florence Brown at the Wesley Church in Hobart. They had three children - Graeme Manfred, Yvonne Joan and Mavis Elaine. Each married - Graeme to Lois Mogford, Yvonne to Ian MacNeice and Mavis to Ivan Williams.;;Sylvia Hall was the daughter of Alfred Ernest and Florence Emma Brown. She had a brother, Alfred Ernest and 2 sisters - Ethel May, who married Vere Ederick Hay and Adeline Jean, who married Frederick Alfred Bain. Ethel and Vere had a daughter Elaine and the family live in New Norfolk. Adeline and Frederick had one daughter, Judith Dianne. Sylvia Hall was active in the Boy Scouts movement. The Hall family lived at Moonah, Tasmania, at 12 Kelvin Avenue (formerly known as View Street) which they built.;;Cyril died in 1960 and Sylvia in 1985.;;
