The Association is a sporting organisation comprising membership from other croquet clubs.;;At its inaugural meeting on 17 December 1912 held at "Eynon" in Mortimer Avenue, Mount Stuart, the association resolved to form with one delegate from each of the affiliated southern clubs then present - Beaulieu, New Town, Hobart (later Sandy Bay) and the Parattah Croquet Clubs. The Association organised tournaments between clubs and ensured that play was conducted by the english rules.
