Richard John Craw (known always as John Craw) was born in Launceston.;;John and Hilary moved to New Norfolk in 1960 to assist with the introduction of television to the town in May of that year. They initially ran a business in High Street and then built a home and business premises on the corner of Derwent Terrace and High Street, New Norfolk. ;;John also worked as a casual camera operator for the former TVT6 television station. John and Hilary had an interest in history, and much of John's private camera work was aimed at documenting history through moving images. John was also at the forefront of computer technology.;;John and Hilary were active members of the New Norfolk community, as local government councillors, business people and local historians. In 2012 the Derwent Valley Council recognised their service to the community by referring "Craw Street" as a street name to the Nomenclature Board for approval.;;John and Hilary moved to Granton in retirement but Hilary returned to New Norfolk after John's death.;;John died on 18 September 1992 and Hilary died on 16 September 2009;;
