The Tasmania Branch of RAN Corvettes Association was established in 1982 with members scattered around Tasmania and Hobart as the main meeting point. Ex-corvettees welfare was the main goal for the Association and have regular BBQ and reunion. ;;;;Corvettes are one of the smallest warships in the Australian navy and were built in local shipyards in Australia. They served in World War II escorting merchant ships around the Australian coast, swept for mines and rescued survivors from bombed ships.
