Martin Davies was born 1958, and died in Davis, Antarctica, in 1995 while climbing the Vestfold Hills.;;;;Martin was among the first undergraduates to study historical archaeology at the University of Sydney from 1976. He was hired as an archaeologist by the Tasmanian National Parks and Wildlife service and became part of Brian Egloff's pioneering conservation team at Port Arthur in 1983.
