Polygon Theatre Company was formed in 1976 to produce local theatre in Tasmania. In its first two years it produced plays that were on the high school curriculum. By 1979 it produced 4 major plays a year which later extended to a program of 6 annually. In 1980 it became a full production company with a semi-professional status and employed a staff of three. Its Artistic Director was Don Gay. Funding issues led to its demise in late 1983.
