While living in Burnie Mrs Frank (Ena Emily) Miles became a foundation member of the CWA (Country Women's Association) and was also very active in the Victoria League for Commonwealth Friendship. She was made a life member of CWA in 1959. She served as State President (1968), National President (1971-73) and Chairman of the Co-ordinating Committee for the Conference of the Associated Country Women of the World held in Perth,WA, October 1974.;;;;;;;;
