Description:
Born on Flinders Island, Walker was the son of the first (pioneers) at Whitemark. Following World War II Walker became a forceful advocate for Soldier Settlement on the island. In 1996 Walker was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for service to the community of Flinders Island (particularly) in the establishment of a shipping service, and to local government, retailing and the building industry.;;;;
