William Allison (ca.1789-1856) was employed by Lt Arthur Davies RN, and travelled with the Davies family to Van Diemen's Land in 1828. He worked as overseer at Davies's property, The Lawn, New Norfolk, ca.1829-32, and for James Hobbs at McGill's Marshes (between Oatlands and Little Swanport) ca.1832-33. From 1845 until his death in 1856 he was the licensee of the British Hotel, Liverpool Street, Hobart. 
Another William Allison (born ca.1810) was transported for theft in 1833 and assigned to The Lawn ca.1833-35.
