The Bowls Past Presidents Association of Tasmania arose due to similar groups emerging in other states. Preliminary meetings were held in December 1973 and January 1974 with the inaugural meeting on 3 Feb 1974.;;;;The Associations objectives were to foster friendship and fellowship amongst past presidents and past presidents with other bowlers, to arrange bowls matches and competitions, entertainment and social functions for past presidents and to affiliate with other associations for the promotion of bowls.
