The Miss Tasmania Quest was part of the Miss Australia Quest that ran between 1954 -2000 [a number of quests had been run dating back to 1908]. The Miss Tasmania Quest was owned nationally by the Cerebral Palsy Association and conducted by the the Spastics Association. The titles awarded were Miss Tasmania and Miss Tasmania Charity.;;Other charities which participated in the quest included Retarded Children's Welfare Association, Blind and Deaf Schools' Parents Association and St Giles Home for Crippled Children.;;The conduct of the quest was controlled by a state committee comprising National Sponsors and State Donors and this Committee operated as a co-ordinating fund-raising body that distributed the money raised.;;In 1992 the Miss Australia Quest name was changed to the Miss Australia Awards to reflect more contemporary attitudes towards people's contributions to community life and the gowns, crowns and sceptres ceased to be used.
