Carl Friedrich Ludwig (naturalised as Carl Frederick Ludwick) Collatz (24 March 1842 - 5 July 1883) emigrated from Prussia to Tasmania in 1870 and married Catherine Brooks (1853 - 11 January 1932) on 24 May 1875. Their children were Charles William Frederick (16 April 1876 - 1945 - bachelor), May Fredericka (26 April 1878-1952 - spinster), Ada Alice (9 June 1880 - 25 December 1927) and Cecilia Adelaide (2 November 1882 - 1970 - spinster) Collatz. ;;;;Charles Frederick William Collatz was a stockbroker. ;;;;Fredericka May Collatz married Charles John Brinckman (licensee Bird-in-Hand Hotel, Argyle-street) and had four sons Ernest Ferdinand (18 November 1889 - 25 February 1952), Arthur William, Harry, Charles (1904 -1925) and two daughters, Etta and Anna Johanna (September 1900 - ?) Brinckman.;;;;Ada Alice Brinckman married Thomas Henry Goldsmith (1877 - 1945) and had children Thomas William Keith (1901 - 1943) and Norah Catherine Marguerite (1908-1916).;;;;Annie Brinckman married William James Aloysius Reynolds who was killed at Menin Gate, Belgium on 20 September 1917. They had children Eunice (married Mr ? Rattray-Smith) and Ernest ( ? - 25 February 1952). Ernest married Dorothy Hope and had a child, Zela Hope Brinckman on 2 November 1923.
