Bartholomew "Bat" Thomas (1811-1898) owned property at Cullenswood and Port Sorell. He was one of seven children of Jocelyn Henry Connor Thomas and Charlotte Partridge, who emigrated to Van Diemen's Land in 1824. Jocelyn was Colonial Treasurer 1825-1832. Bat married Louisa Ashburner in 1844 and they had eleven children.;;
