Description:
Launceston architect.;;Frank Heyward was born in Hobart and educated at Friends school. He served his articles in architecture with Norris and Sharland and worked in a temporary appointment with the Public Works Department before being recruited to work with Robert Flack Ricards. He married Elsie Archer in 1907 is subsequently listed as practising in Launceston. He worked with Ricards on Webster's building on Liverpool Street in Hobart, and in 1913 won the competition for the design of the Hobart City Hall.
