The Cruickshank family grew apples in Glenorchy. The brothers involved in the business were Allan La Touche, Ernest Walmesley and Athol Maynard Hayes Cruickshank.The business seems to have commenced around 1900 and Cruickshank Bros appear for the first time as entrants in the Glenorchy Horticultural Show in 1904.;;
