Description:
Arthur Fleming was a former policeman, bushman and fisheries officer. As a member of the Tasmanian Police Force, his experience and skill as a bushman proved invaluable in search and rescue work, particularly in the South-West. He was seconded from the police force to the Fauna Board and Fisheries Commission as chief bailiff. He later transferred to the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Commission as senior inspector. He was made a life member of the Southern Anglers Association, the Northern Fisheries Association and the North-West Fisheries Association.
