Launceston born photographer Charlie Burrows joined his father Alfred Edward in his studio after being retrenched from a position in the printing industry. He did portraiture and commercial work but made a specialty of press coverage for Tasmanian newspapers. The 'Weekly Courier', 'Examiner' and 'Weekly Times' were his main clients. Burrows, a life member of the Australian Jounalist's Association, retired in 1981 and was awarded the British Empire Medal in 1982.
