NETS was set up by the Visual Arts Board and the various state arts advisory bodies to replace the former Australian Art Gallery Director's Council as the national organisation for co-ordinating the touring of local, national, and international exhibitions throughout Australia. A State Management Committee was elected in each State and Chameleon made 2 nominations - the Co-ordinator as an artist run space nomination and Ray Arnold as the artist nomination.;;;;NETS merged with Chameleon and ArtHouse to become Contemporary Art Services, Tasmania (CAST)
