The first meeting of the Guide movement in Tasmania was held on 25 April 1920. The movement commenced officially at Longford on 25 June 1920, when the 1st Longford Company was registered under the leadership of Mrs Muschamp and Miss Hutchinson. In 1922 a Brownie Pack was formed with Miss K. Hutchinson as Brown Owl.
