The aims for the establishment of the Northern Women's Health Centre were: to improve health services for women in the Northern region; to provide health information for women; to research and collect information on women's health; and to strengthen women's participation in decision making on health at all levels, local regional and state. Meetings were held at Laurel House. It was part of the National Women's Health Program.
