Thomas Hume Simpson was born about 1825 and married Elizabeth Smith at Oatlands in 1856. They had five sons and seven daughters between 1856 and 1878. TH Simpson was a District Constable at Oatlands, Deloraine, Longford and George Town. By 1878 he was the Chief District Constable at George Town. In 1903 he was listed as a Clerk. His wife Elizabeth died aged 72 on 9 June 1904. TH Simpson died aged 89 on 28 June 1914.;;;;Two of his daughters are mentioned in these records. Amy Jane Simpson was born in 1867 and married William H Riddle in 1891. The youngest child, Mabel Constance Simpson, was born in 1878 and married Edward S Lambert on 19 April 1912. His son Archibald Frank Simpson, born 1876, was probably the recipient of the telegram in item 11.
