John Stronach was the son of Frank Everton Stronach and Elizabeth Ann [nee Bell], and grandson of Alexander Stronach and Elizabeth [nee Scott]. He had three brothers, Alan, Russell and Frank. John married Rhonda Davies. They had three children, Graeme, Brian and Jane. He worked as an engineer with the Hydro Electic Commission.
