Description:
The North Esk Landcare Group Inc was formerly established in 1991 by Gus Green and Merv Whybrow, with the backing of two Lions Clubs (Launceston -Riverside and City of Launceston). The "Ribbon of Blue" project which aimed at rehabilitatingthe 14km of the North Esk near Launceston was the major work.Private sponsorship and Council, State and Federal Government funding all contributed to the clearing of the willows, establishment of a track and the replanting of the riverbanks with native vegetation.
