The Myrtle Bank Agricultural Bureau held its inaugural meeting at the Myrtle Bank Hall on 21 May 1928. John Rowland Skemp was the secretary. Officers of the Agricultural Department kept in close contact with the bureaux as part of its extension service for improving the yield and productivity of the private agricultural sector.
