Charles Swanston (1789-1850) arrived in Hobart in 1829. He was appointed managing director of the Derwent Bank in November 1831, and became a leading member of the Port Phillip Association.;;Charles Lambert Swanston (d.1897) managed the family's properties near Geelong, Victoria, and in the South Island of New Zealand.;;Charles Swanston (d.1930) practiced medicine in Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand.;;Charles Swanston (1915-2012) practiced as an opthalmologist in Auckland and served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
