Dudley Ransom (26/12/1889 - 12/6/1981) and Dorothy Ransom (30/10/1887 - 11/5/1967) were the children of Louis Eugene and Evlyn (Eva) Ransom (formerly Peck).;;Dudley was a farmer on the family property 'Millbrook', Mt Nicholas, and later at;; 'Cranston', Campania. On 29 May 1915 at the age of twenty-five he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force at Claremont. While on active service in France in 1916 he applied and was accepted to train with the Royal Flying Corps. As a keen photographer he extensively documented his war experience. After the war he returned to farming in Tasmania, and opened a private museum which focused on the history of firearms.;;Dorothy Ransom lived most of her life at 'Millbrook', Mt Nicholas and from the late 1950s resided in South Hobart.;;
