The Bruny Special Ministry District is part of the Southern Mission Network, Anglican Diocese of Tasmania. It has been the Parochial District of Bruny Island (1988-1993), part of the Parish of Bruny North (see NG3462) and was part of the Channel Parish (see NG1931). The Parish of Channel and Bruny Island formed 1 August 1990 but separated after only a few years and has not been individually registered as a separate agency.;;;;On 4 February 1996 there was a celebration of 150 years of the Anglican Church on Bruny. A combined service was held whenever there was a fifth Sunday in a month. (see minutes NS5481/1/1-3 for administration of the Bruny Island Council);;;;The current church is St Paul's Church in Adventure Bay, fires in 1905 and 1933.. Services were held in the past at St Peter's Church at Barnes Bay and St Mark's Church at Dennes Point.
