In 1888 St Georges was part of the parish of Holy Trinity. The parishes of Lilydale and St Georges, Invermay were amalgamated after 1948. ;;;;The former parish of St Georges and Lilydale is now (2016) part of Launceston North Special Ministry District, Northern Mission Network.;;;;The first St George's was consecrated in August 1887. The foundation stone of the present brick church, designed by Alexander and F J Heyward in perpendicular Gothic, was laid in July 1925.
