Beth Gott is an Honorary Research Fellow at Monash University School of Biological Sciences. (2000 - present).;;Prior to this, Beth worked at Melbourne University and in London before moving to Hong Kong University where she taught botany and became interested in Ethno-botany; which she later pursued in the USA , working with an Anthropologist specialising in studies of the Connecticut American Indians. On returning to Australia Beth identified plant material from Victorian archaeological Aboriginal sites, and began her present ethno-botanical studies of plant use and management by the first people of south-eastern Australia.;;Awarded a PhD in Plant Physiology from the Imperial College, London University in 1951.;;
