Churches were at St Peter's - Barnes Bay and St Mark's - Dennes Point.

St Peters was consecrated in August 1850 after Richard and Hannah Pybus gave the land at Missionary Cove, Barnes Bay, and the church was built with a grant from the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (SPG). This church, the first Anglican church built south of Hobart, suffered fires in 1920 and 1967. It was deconsecrated 9 March 2014.

St Marks was erected on land given by William Young and was dedicated on 1 March 1940. It was builit with both voluntary and paid labour. The altar came from Campania.
