The Sandy Bay Croquet Club grew out of the Hobart Croquet Club after a meeting on 24 February 1916. At that meeting, the Hobart Club was re-formed and renamed the Sandy Bay Croquet Club.;;The initial office-bearers were: Mrs C. W. Butler (President), Mrs W. O. Wise (Vice President), Mrs C. V. Harcourt (Hon. Secretary) and Mrs C Lord (Hon. Treasurer) and Mr D Wright (Green Superintendent).;;
