Joseph Christopher Breaden (c.1877-1947), was a landscape photographer and authority on wild flowers. He was born in Echuca, Victoria to John Armstrong and Jessie Breaden (formerly Malcolm). Joseph Breaden's photographs were published in the Illustrated Tasmanian Mail and the Mercury's Christmas annuals and he produced souvenir booklets and sets of photographic cards. He was a life member of the Southern Tasmanian Photographic Society, and also a member of the Royal Society and the Field Naturalists' Club. He married Janet Drysdale in 1908 and they had two children, Donald John Armstrong (1913) and Geoffrey Malcolm Drysdale (1917). The latter also became a photographer and took over his father's business. The family lived at "McAlpine", in Waverley Avenue, New Town. Joseph Breaden died on 19 October 1947.;;;;
