The Australian Council of Community Nursing Services, or A.C.C.N.S, was a peak not for profit body for community nurses to have their voices heard. Their objects were to promote and advance the development of quality non-profit home/ community nursing services at a national and state level, promote co-operation between organisations providing not for profit home/ community nursing services and promote education, training and allied facilities for persons employed or intended to be employed in not for profit home/ community services. ;;To be a member, the applicant had to have worked for a not for profit home/ community service for at least six months in the past five years.
